Kovu: You want to know something, Kopa?
Kopa: Yeah?
Kopa: What?
Kopa: Yeah?
Kovu: Zira made me swear never to tell anyone this... Did you know that she used to play with rats?
Kopa: What?
Kovu: Seriously, she played with them like they were best friends or something.
Kopa: No way.
Kovu: Hell yeah she did. One time I woke up in the middle of the night, I went off to a river for a drink, right? Well right by this dead tree nearby, I saw Zira kneeling down, and she went "Who's a good critter? You are! You are, little rat you!" And what do you think I see her petting? A little field mouse. It was like her pet or something!
Kopa *Holding back loud snickers* No, no you're pulling my tail, Kovu.
Kovu: I couldn't make this up if I tried!

Kopa *Holding back loud snickers* No, no you're pulling my tail, Kovu.
Kovu: I couldn't make this up if I tried!
Kopa: Geeze, and that's who I was scared of for so long?
Kovu: You want to know something else? Secretly... I think she was attracted to Mufasa.
Kopa *Laughter breaking through* Stop it, Kovu!

Kovu: I'm not saying that's what it was. But all I'm saying is, I heard her moaning in our mound one day, going "Oh, Mufasa! Mufasa, you make me tingle!"
Kopa *Laughing hysterically* Great Kings, you're killing me, man!
Kovu: You know, she was scared of spiders too.
Kopa *in between laughs* I'm gonna... kill you if you're making this.... up!

Kovu: Go ahead, ask Vitani, she'll tell you. Every single time Zira saw a spider or a bug like it, she would go running. *Waves his paw off in a left motion* I never saw her go so fast in my life. She'd even order Nuka... Nuka! To kill them for her.
*Kovu and Kopa both cackle together.*
Kovu *Catching his breath*: She said if we ever told anyone about it, she'd kill us immediately. Pfft, "death all around, around", that's all it was with her.
Kopa: Gee, that must've worked out real good.
Kovu: She killed us about as well as she killed you.
*The two lions howl with laughter, not caring who hears now.*
*Kovu and Kopa both cackle together.*

Kovu: She killed us about as well as she killed you.

Kovu *Trying to calm down*: Eh? Zira's not looking so tough anymore now, is she?
Kopa: If she couldn't even kill a spider? Hell no, man.
*They spend several moments trying to catch their breath again, settling themselves gradually.*

Kovu: Any time, Kopa. I figured you wouldn't be so bothered by her if you knew she wasn't all bloody murder all the time.
Kopa: You're telling me. Does dad know anything about these?

Kovu: This is going to be so great...
Well, that was fun to write.
This drawing is based on an idea I've had for some time now, following Kopa getting back to Pride Rock after all those years. I imagine that he'd still have quite a bit of fear for Zira and what she did, not dissimilar to PTSD symptoms. So Kovu would want to make a good impression on his brother-in-law by telling him embarrassing stories about her, to sort of calm him down from his fear of her. Based on this, I'd say it worked pretty well.
